Upton-by-Chester Village Hall

About UVH

Upton Village Hall is managed by local volunteer trustees. It operates at virtually full occupancy for much of the year with hirings successfully operating back-to-back.
Occupancy declines during the summer months allowing for more casual bookings. The meeting room is let regularly and independently of the main hall without any conflict over facilities. These successful arrangements allows us to keep our hiring fees at a low level, benefiting our organisations and local users. Over 30 different groups use the facilities, covering ages from babies to the elderly and offering a great range of sporting, leisure, cultural, personal care and specialised interest activities.
The Hall dating from 1928 is excellently managed, maintained and promoted, building up high esteem within the local community. We have been accredited to the full set of Hallmark standards – levels 1, 2, & 3. This is a national quality standard.

Volunteering & Donations

The trustees operate as a team with a shared responsibility but each work with specific roles. However, we welcome volunteers offering support within the numerous tasks carried out.
Occasionally a vacancy exists within the Board of Trustees and a volunteer, who enjoys working alongside us and we all feel would fit in, may then like to consider signing up as a full trustee.
Donations and Legacies help to fund ongoing improvements to the hall and these may be topped up through Gift Aid tax refund – contact our treasurer.
