The stage has a raked, carpeted floor. A pair of front curtains are operated using a windlass on the right hand wall behind the black side drape. 3 pairs of winged drapes can be drawn in to suit the user’s requirements. A concealed door at each back corner of the stage lead to dressing rooms. The stage is primarily for shows and presentations, but it can be used for additional seating as long as safety concerns are observed with the provision of a barrier across the front. Planters and artificial plants are available for this purpose. The stage is out of bounds for children’s parties.
A range of lighting options are available. There is a row of theatrical spot lights on the lighting bar in front of the stage, together with 2 more bars of lights above the stage itself. There are 8 pre-programmed combinations of these lights, operated from a lighting box at the rear of the hall. In addition, 2 spot lights to the front right and left of the stage are trained on the stage front, primarily to illuminate presenters.
